History behind UPVC French doors

The history behind UPVC French doors makes for good reading. Apparently the door gets its name from where it originated from : France. The doors have their antecedents in the common window. Yes the common window. During the French renaissance the second floor window begun being extended downwards to the floor, this window was consequently extended sideways -eastwards and westwards to.

Once this trend caught on the windows were in a short period of time converted in to UPVC doors, thus the original French door was born. Originally the doors contained individual pieces of glass- lite- that were separated by wooden dividers known as mullions. The door was described by the number of glass windows it contained, for instance 10 pieces would make a 10 piece lite door, whilst  20 pieces would make for 20 piece lite door and so on and so forth. The base of these doors has considerably expanded over the time these doors were first conceptualized during the French renaissance. Today the material used is typically UPVC in place of glass. Steel and even aluminum are used in place of wood as mullions. That there is a synopsis on the origin of the UPVC French door that has so enthralled  our culture.
